Life MonitorsThe Life Monitors are exactly that - monitor speakers that can portray the life in music.... I love inserting these speakers into exotic systems only to have the listeners reply with, "Oh. I see what you mean. My speakers are kind of slow." They are small, shielded, crossoverless, and best of all, 95 dB efficient! This means that a 300b is plenty of tube for most folks, and the 2a3 and 45 are wonderful in a small to medium sized room. The tradeoff for all of this is the requirement for a subwoofer, but they are plentiful. Very high quality, point source, high efficiency speakers are not. Setting up a Home Theatre to see what all of the multi-channel hype is all about? Buy five of these. Or seven. They are very well matched due to the high driver quality and will not require equalization or forced localization with your surround setup. This will reduce the phasiness and, ultimately, the fatigue of multi-channel systems. There are times when I want a break from setting up complex multi-way horn systems. I just want to listen. During these times, I grab Lady Day and head to the Life Monitors. The holographic imaging is wonderful. The leading edges of instruments sharp. The Experience - Music!
