Surrender - when you have given up on gear and bow to music...If you have kept up with the DIY scene you have undoubtedly heard the praise for "active loaded parallel feed." I am here to tell you that it is no boast - it is the real thing. I was skeptical of all things solid state for a long time. To incorporate them into a high voltage circuit seemed crazy to me. I built a circuit using them in in late 2001. To my dismay, I was floored by the sound and the amp is running perfectly to this day with no modifications! Everyone that has heard that amp asked why I didn't build them. I finally have surrendered and am offering them. There will likely only be two built as shown above as Magnequest has stopped production of the solid cobalt output transformers that help make this amp so special. One pair has been built and tweaked as an integrated amp. The other pair is being built as traditional monoblock amplifiers by configuring the autoformer coupling to pure grid choke operation and omitting the transformer attenuators. The Surrender reveals low level detail, dynamic shading, and top end purity as no amp I have ever built....
Surrender dimensions - 10" x 17" x 9" integrated or traditional monoblocks available power output - three watts tube complement: TJ mesh plate 2a3, ecc99, gz34 rectification iron compliment by Stevens and Billington and Magnequest Mahogany chassis IEC powercord input
